Tax Audit Services
Audit Support (Scrutiny Assessment)
Your DCT is asking for documents and explanations. We organise the paperwork, draft the audit reply, and attend hearings on your behalf. You don't take leave from work.
Revised Returns
Spotted a mistake in your filed return? We file the corrected return with a proper covering letter before the officer flags it as concealment. Far cheaper than waiting for the penalty.
Legal Notice Replies
Show-cause, demand notice, penalty notice, hearing notice. We draft the legal reply, cite the right sections, attach the documents. You read it in plain Bangla before we submit.
Tribunal & High Court Appeals
Are you aggrieved with the audit notice issued by the tax officer? We appeal at the Commissioner of Taxes (Appeals), then the Taxes Appellate Tribunal, then the High Court Division. We only file appeals we believe we have valid ground. That's how we keep our quality to support our aggrieved taxpayers.
Three mistakes that turn a notice into a risk.
You have 30 days to reply. Miss the deadline and the tax officer can complete the assessment on his best judgement, with interest and penalty stacked on top.
Three mistakes we see every week:
- ×Pay tax as the tax office determined. Getting that money back is a long fight.
- ×Reply on your own with the wrong section reference. The case gets risky.
- ×Hope the letter goes away. The next one is a demand notice.

Common questions about NBR audit notices
What is a tax audit in Bangladesh?▼
A tax audit in Bangladesh is a review of your filed income tax return by the National Board of Revenue. The Deputy Commissioner of Taxes checks whether your declared income, deductions, and assets match your bank statements, invoices, and other supporting records. If something doesn't add up, the officer can raise a tax demand.
How long do I have to reply to an NBR audit notice?▼
You usually get 30 days from the date on the notice. Some hearing notices give you 7 to 15 days. Always reply in writing before the deadline, even if you cannot submit all documents yet. Asking for a date extension is a normal part of the process and is usually granted.
What happens if I ignore the audit notice?▼
If you do not reply, the tax officer can pass a "best judgment assessment" under the Income Tax Act 2023. The officer estimates your income on his own, usually higher than reality, and adds interest plus penalty. Reversing it later through appeal is harder and more expensive than replying on time.
Can I appeal if the tax officer's order is wrong?▼
Yes. You can appeal first to the Commissioner of Taxes (Appeals). Then to the Taxes Appellate Tribunal. Then to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court. Each level has its own deadline, usually 45 days. Missing the deadline closes the appeal.
How much does BDTax charge for audit support?▼
The fee depends on case complexity. A simple revised return costs less than a full tribunal appeal. We give you a flat-fee quote after reading your notice, usually within two business hours. The first case review is always free.
Do you handle cases outside Dhaka?▼
Yes. We handle cases in every tax circle in Bangladesh, including Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi, Barishal, Rangpur, and Mymensingh. Most of the work is done online and over the phone. We only travel to the local tax office when a hearing requires physical attendance.
Are you licensed to represent me at the tax office?▼
Yes. Our team includes ITPs (Income Tax Practitioners licensed by NBR) and CAs registered with ICAB. ITPs and CAs are both legally allowed to represent taxpayers before the DCT, the Commissioner (Appeals), and the Taxes Appellate Tribunal. For High Court matters we work with Bar Council enrolled advocates.
Don't let one notice cost you years of work.
A tax notice doesn't disappear by itself. It also doesn't have to become a disaster.
Send us your notice today. We read it for free. We tell you exactly what you're facing. We quote you a fair price. If you don't want to hire us after the review, you walk away knowing what the notice means. That is worth something on its own.
First case review is free. Flat fee quoted in writing before any work starts. Your data stays confidential.
BDTax provides information and services to assist taxpayers and is not the National Board of Revenue (NBR). Official notices and decisions are issued only by NBR and your tax circle.
